Calvin passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Borgess Place in Kalamazoo.
He was born January 15, 1924 in Plainwell, the son of Alonzo and Hazel (New) Moran. Calvin started working at an early age in the muck fields and worked for almost 50 years at Plainwell Paper until his retirement in 1985. In his free time Calvin enjoyed squirrel and rabbit hunting and fishing. On September 26, 1946 in Otsego he married Doris Holmes who passed away in 2007.
Surviving are his brother, David Moran, sisters-in-law, Joan Moran, Nancy Moran and Karen Darner along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings, Alonzo, Margaret, Carol, Elton, Oscar, Phyllis, Leo, William and John.
Friends may visit with Calvin’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Ray Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.
Contributions in memory of Calvin may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Calvin spent a lot of time on our front visiting with my late husband, Larry! Calvin was such a good guy and I have missed seeing him the past 5 years! He is probably swapping stories with Larry again

Uncle Calvin was a sweetheart, I will miss him so much. He was famous for his (YIP) as a response to most conversations. I will miss that and his contagious smile. He was a great guy with a great heart. Love You Uncle Calvin RIP
