Burleigh R. Arndt

Bob passed away, Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at his home in Kalamazoo.

He was born April 12, 1937, in Plainwell, the son of Burleigh and Gladys (Darling) Arndt. Bob proudly served his country in U.S. Army in the 101^st. Airborne Division. He worked for M-DOT, Mac Sim Bar and for many years was a truck driver for Michigan Cottage Cheese until his retirement. On June 14, 1958, in Plainwell he married Bernadine “Bird” Meyers who passed away in 2017. 

Surviving are his children, Ronald Arndt of Otsego, Donald Arndt of Otsego and Steven (Alma) Arndt of Holland; grandchildren, Mary, Stephanie and Mitchell; 2 great-grandchildren, Sophia and Caroline; sister, Betty Sugas along with many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister, Mary Lou Sullivan. 

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. 

Burial of ashes with Military Honors will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 24, 2024, with a luncheon to follow at the Otsego VFW Post #3030.

Contributions in memory of Bob may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
