Beverly O. “Cobe” Coburn

Cobe passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He was born July 18, 1930 in Allegan, the son of Ivor and Ruth (Coppock) Coburn. Cobe grew up on his family’s farm where he developed a strong work ethic as a young man. He graduated in 1947 from Allegan High School and married his high School sweetheart, Ruth Ann Clawson on October 28, 1949. They moved to Otsego and for over 41 years he had worked at Mac Sim Bar and Mead retiring in 1992. Cobe served as a volunteer fireman for the Otsego Fire Department for over 30 years.

He was a hard worker and was very handy doing anything he could to support his family. He was a jack of all trades and had a kind heart helping anyone who was in need. In his free time Cobe enjoyed fishing and fishing trips to Canada with his friends, hunting, playing cards, bowling and golfing.

Surviving are his son Ken (Toni) Coburn; adopted daughter, Terri Plotts; daughter-in-law, Teri Coburn; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, David and sisters, Mary and Donna.

A viewing for friends will be held from 1-3 PM, Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego.

Cremation will follow.

Burial of ashes will take place at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.

Contributions in memory of Cobe may be made to the

American Heart Association

or the

American Cancer Society

Loved this man dearly! Been with him from Vicinia Gardens to Stanford Lodge.He took a piece of my heart with him.will always remember his favorite meals. Rest in peace Cobe.
