to Henry and Willa (Staten) Means. For many years she was employed at the Olympia Restaurant and Truck Stop and then worked 25 years as Activity assistant at Alamo Nursing Home. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Otsego where she served in
Junior
Church
. She enjoyed traveling in
New Jersey
,
New York
and
Oklahoma
; meeting with her breakfast group; and watching wrestling and NASCAR. Betty loved her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Carlton R. (Ann) Belden and Mary (John) Rice, both of Otsego; six grandchildren, Carlton II and Anastacia Belden, Richard, Kimberly, John and Josh Rice; step-granddaughter, Ginger Ann Barrus; great-grandson, Dylan Barrus; 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Lee (Mike) Mandich, Jimmy (Martha) Means, Paul (Jackie) Means, Debbie (Jim) Jones and Willa Wilkenson; 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Kay Means, Sally (Bob) Brown Nancy (Al) Strong. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Belden in 1969, and Thomas Hurst in 1998; and by 2 brothers, Bill and Floyd ‘Sonny’ Means. Betty’s family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and
6 to 8 P.M.
Wednesday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. Funeral services will be held at
3:00 P.M.
Thursday at
First
Baptist
Church
, Otsego, Pastor Merlyn Jones and Mr. Donald Moore officiating. Cremation will follow. Contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the Alamo Nursing Home Activity Department or the Missionary Fund of First Baptist Church of Otsego.

Betty was a special lady.
Her testimony of receiving Jesus Christ was clear, and her life proved her commitment.
I am sorry for your loss – but know that you will see her again,
in a new body free of disease.
