Betty passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in Kalamazoo.
She was born March 17, 1931 on St. Patrick’s Day in Hornersville, Missouri to Emma and Albert (Doc) Abraham. She has gone on to meet her husband Bobby, daughter Debbie, granddaughter Kim, mom and dad, her sister and 3 brothers and the many other people that she touched in this life. Betty dedicated her life to a handicapped son, but there was always room in her life for every family member that needed her. Her family was a world of people whose lives she touched. Her house was an open door and a cup of coffee and if you were hungry she would add a cup of water to the beans and make another pan of cornbread. She also had a great love for sewing the perfect garment for some occasion, the dancing she so loved to do whether she was garage dancing or at the club with her sisters. We that are left will miss her every day for the patience, beauty and peace that she brought to the world.
Betty is survived by her children, Dixie (Jack) Helms of Otsego, Dennis Kellogg of Plainwell, Darrell Kellogg of Plainwell and Donna (Mike) Morrisette of Kalamazoo; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with Betty’s family from 4-7 P.M. Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego where a Funeral service will take place Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors Mike Risner and Rick Sheldon officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the

Well shit! I will never eat chicken & dumplings like hers again. I can recall playing outback in the Willow tree with Darren Brooks (cousin), sneaking out of the house up the street when I was a toddler to hang out with Tippy and Susie (Aunt Betty’s dogs), the two loft cubbies we would play and sleep in. One was located above the kitchen and the other over the sewing room. Uncle Bob had the coin operated monkey playing symbols & the other one that mixed drinks. Oh… And I even recall my grandmother (Gloria… Betty’s sister) getting the top button on her jeans relocated so they will fit again. (what women will do to hold on to their favorite clothes… impressive). And one last one: dentures soaking next to the bathroom sink, kinda freaked me out as a kid, but I was always intrigued that I was staring at someones teeth. See ya on the flip side great aunt Betty. **Better have some chicken & dumplings ready.
