Kathy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is so difficult. I will be praying for peace as you start this long process of grieving. Rest in the knowledge that she is now pain free and surrounded by the loved ones she has missed.

My heart is heavy to hear of your loss. Betty was a wonderful person–beautiful inside and out. She was so extremely instrumental in forming me as a person and I am every so grateful. At a time in my life when I needed love and hope, she and Leonard took me into their home and showed me what love was like. Her home is where I learned what it meant to be a family. We shared a birth date and celebrated my 12th and her 32nd birthdays with a joint party at her home on Craft street. I still love vanilla ice cream on my waffles! She was my first Sunday School teacher at the Northside Assembly of God Church in Kalamazoo. So many memories of her flood my mind and each of them is heart warming. Although I haven’t talked with Betty for a long time I think of her, Leonard, and the children so many times. Knowing she is in heaven and at last with her Leonard, whom she loved deeply, gives me comfort as I hope it comforts her children as well. Peace be with you.
