assed away Tuesday June 10, 2008. Mom was born November 2, 1924 in Otsego, Michigan. She was the unexpected fourth daughter of John and Alda (Brunner) Turner. She was a life long resident of Otsego and a graduate of OHS class of 43. Mom worked at “The Creamery” in Otsego until, in the early 80’s, it closed down, upon which she retired. She came out of retirement when she became a grandmother. That was the “job” she enjoyed the most of all. The promotion to great-grandma made her very happy, and she enjoyed that just as much. She was preceded in death in 2002 by her husband of 56 years, Edward. Mom was the last of her immediate family to pass on. Preceding her were her parents, John and Alda; her 3 sisters, Bernice, Beatrice and Bessie; and her “brother” Ira Johnson. She is survived by her son, Edward W. Volker II of Otsego; four grandchildren, Josiah Anthony Edward Volker, Matthew Wilson Edward Volker, Nicholas Leigh Volker and Samantha Lee Volker; 6 great-grandchildren, Dathan, Victoria, Korrigann, Madison, Warren and Jack; her “sister” Loena (Charlie) Matthews of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in law. Visitation will be Sunday, June 15

th

from 4 to 6 PM at Winkel Funeral Home where services will be held on Monday, June 16

th

at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Joe Shaler officiating. Graveside services at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego, will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to V.F.W. Post #3030.
