Betty J. Holben

Betty passed away, peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Kauhale in Otsego. 

She was born January 15, 1925, in Detroit, the daughter of Zina “Pat” and Elsie (Wester) Myers. Betty was an active member of the Casnovia Reformed Church until its closure, she then attended Bailey Christian Church in Bailey. Betty at times found joy in singing older hymns on Sunday nights at Snow Bible Church in Kent City. 

In her free time, she spent countless hours reading, sewing and engaging in various crafts. On September 7, 1946, she married Carl Holben Sr. who passed away in 2014. 

Surviving are her children, Kathleen (Leonard) Borgman and Douglas Holben; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Carl Holben Jr. and Chris Holben; daughter-in-law, Myrna Holben and siblings, Edna, Carl, Winifred and Beverly. 

Friends may visit with Betty’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Snow Bible Church in Kent City, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Daren Penwell officiating. 

Burial will follow at Idlewild Cemetery in Kent City.
