Kalamazoo

to David and Henrietta (Moerman) Verdries. Bertha was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church of Otsego. For several years she was employed as a tailor for Redwood and Ross. After retiring she worked at home doing alterations and sewing. For her family she hand made stuffed toys, including Care Bears and Raggedy Anns and Andys. She helped her husband with painting and staining the houses that he built. Bertha enjoyed cooking Italian style meals.

she married Charles Perricone, who died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her son, Salvatore ‘Sam’ Perricone earlier this year; a sister, Ruth LeBar; and her twin brother, Ippy Verdries. Surviving are her son and daughter, Dave (Joy) Perricone of Otsego and Rose Ann Perricone of Algonac; her daughter-in-law, Toni Perricone of Otsego; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; a sister, Grace Geren of

Kalamazoo

; several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 2 to 4 and

Sunday at the

Winkel Funeral Home,

Otsego,

where services will be held at

1:00 P.M.

Monday, Rev. Fr. Donald P. Klingler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Margaret’s Cemetery, Otsego. Contributions in Bertha’s memory may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or Habitat for Humanity of Allegan County.
