, the son of John and Hermina (Caninga) Lantman. Bert served in the US Army and the Marine Corps during WWII. On

, he married the former Madeline Dunn, who preceded him in death in 1961.He was employed at Ruud, Rheems and retired from Checker Motors in 1979. Bert was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Otsego, a 4

th

Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 7796 and was a member of the American Legion. He baked and delivered cookies to Borgess Nursing Home and the

Allegan

Care

Center

. For many years, he worked the Bingo games at St. Margaret’s and he golfed on the Retirees Golf League for 27 years. He is survived by several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Sharon Rizzio of Grand Haven and Lisa Irwin of

Vicksburg

, and he was very active in all of their lives. He is also survived by many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Ray, his

sister-in-law

Florence

and a special nephew, Mike Irwin. Friends may meet with the family Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Scripture Service read by Rev. Fr. Donald Klinger at 7:30 PM at the

Winkel Funeral Home,

Otsego

,

MI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at

11:00 AM

at St. Margaret’s Church, Otsego, Rev. Fr. Donald Klinger Celebrant. Interment will follow at

Mt.

Olivet

Cemetery

Kalamazoo
