Bernice E. Hummel
Bernice passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Allegan County Medical Care Community.
She was born October 11, 1927 in Elvins, MO the daughter of Jesse and Ethel (Smart) Stricklin. Bernice was a 1946 Otsego High School graduate. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and taking care of her family. On October 8, 1946 she married Charles Hummel who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Ellen (George) Hoots of Otsego, Charles “Ed” Hummel of Delton and Phyllis Ransbottom of Plainwell, 7 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Evelyn Stricklin; her husband and daughter, Peggy Ann Hummel.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
A private family burial of ashes will be held at Mountain Home Cemetery at a later time.
Contributions in memory of Bernice may be made to the
Allegan County Medical Care Community Activities Fund
.
