Bernadine A. Arndt

Bird passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at her home in Kalamazoo.

She was born August 4, 1939 in Plainwell to Bernith and Phyllis (Smith) Meyers. For many years she had been a bus driver for Otsego Public Schools. Bird, along with her good friend Brenda Powers had been den mothers for the Boy Scouts and later Brownie and Girl Scout leaders.

In her spare time Bird enjoyed camping, rock hunting and bird watching. On June 14, 1958 in Plainwell she married Burleigh “Bob” Arndt who survives.

Also surviving are her sons, Ronald Arndt of Otsego, Donald Arndt of Lander, Wyoming and Steven (Alma) Arndt of Holland; grandchildren, Mary, Stephanie and Mitchell; sister, Sharon (Carl) Robar and sister-in-law, Karen Meyers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Chet Meyers.

Friends may visit with Bird’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Winkel Funeral Home until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Celebrant, Bill Rose officiating.

Cremation will follow.

Burial of ashes will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego at a later time.

Bob and Family, I don’t know if you remember me I am your Aunt Lola and Uncle Laurence Hall’s, granddaughter Kathy.

Once and a while, I read the obituaries. I am very sad to see Bird’s Larry and I are sending our deepest condolences. We will be keeping you and your family in our prayers.
