Barbara (Lafountain) Dudley

Barbara passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 in Allegan.

She was born December 30, 1928 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Charles and Elsie (Sniffin) Seward. Barbara was a simple Christian woman who loved the Lord and all he created. She didn’t require much to make her happy. She loved all animals especially her pets. Barbara enjoyed sewing, gardening and was a member of the Allegan Bible Church.

Surviving are her children, Suzanne French of Allegan, Sandra (Don) Gilchrist of Allegan, Lee Daniel (Carol) LaFountain of Colorado and Betty (Greg) Burkowski of Indiana; 8 grandchildren, Angie, Kevin, Sherri, Danny, Barbi, Mike Jr., Ricky and Kelly; several great and great-great-grandchildren and her brother, Duane (Gisela) Seward of Kalamazoo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Lee LaFountain and James Dudley; 2 children, Elaine and Linda; granddaughter, Terri and her sister Earla Nichols.

Cremation has taken place.

Burial will be held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego.

Contributions in memory of Barbara may be made to the

or to the

Allegan County Animal Shelter

Richard, we are so sorry to learn of the loss of your brother Ray. While we didn’t know him personally, we have both lost siblings and parents.

Tiger and Judy Lane are gone now also and any way you look at it the loss of our loved ones hurts. May Our Lord grant you peace and strength during this stressful time in your life.

On behalf of Barb’s neighbors here at Grand Ravine Senior Housing , we wish to extend condolences to the family. Barb was a gracious and kind friend to all and will be deeply missed. She spent 14 years here and brighten many potlucks with her smile.

So sorry to hear of my Aunt’s passing. She was always so much fun and encouragement in my early years. I wish I could have spent more time with her.
