to Adam and Zofia (Slotwinski) Maruniak. In the mid 1970s she earned her Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from

Western

Michigan

University

. In 1984 she and her husband opened their own business, Hytech Spring & Machine, in Plainwell, which they still own and operate. With the heart of a giant, Barbara loved animals, was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, entertaining, and cooking. Above all, she loved her family. On

July 16, 1983

Allegan County

, she married Andrew Magiera of

Krakow

,

Poland

, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Zofia Maruniak-Slotwinski of Otsego; her sister, Teresa Ramos of

Bartlett

,

Illinois

; her father-in-law, Stanislaw Magiera of

Poland

; nephews, Alex and Brian; extended family in the

United States

and

Poland

; and many friends. Preceding her in death were her father, Adam Maruniak, and her sister, Lidia, both in 1992. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and

6 to 8 P.M.

Sunday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a prayer service will be conducted at

7:00 P.M.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at

11:00 A.M.

Monday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Parchment, Rev. Fr. James S. O’Leary celebrant. Cremation will follow with burial of ashes at St. Margaret’s Cemetery, Otsego. Contributions in memory of Barbara may be made to the S.P.C.A. of Southwest Michigan or the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

drogi andrzeju .nie wiedzialam jaka jest przyczyna milczenia barbaray wyszukalam sama w necie ta okropna wiadomosc .jest mi bardzo przykro i to wydarzenie bardzo mnie poruszylo .siedzi we mnie jak cwiek w sercu basia tak chciala zebym przyjechala a ja ociagalam sie moze gdybym byla u was nie stalo by sie to najgorsze wrocily by wspomnienia z dziecinstwa i basia odzyskalaby rownowage .mam w uszach jej glos jak prosila prosze przyjedz do mnie.bardzo bardzo to przezylami meczy mne do tej pory nie moge uwierzyc ,ze jej nie ma pozdrawiamy ciebie serdecznie z williamem i calujemy barbara krakow.

Andrzejku! człowiek dopiero w dobie upowszechniania internetu dowiaduje się o takich tragediach. Bardzo Ci współczuję, choć Barbarę znałam tylko ze zdjęć. Pewno do tej pory ułożyłeś sobie życie bo to bardzo dawno temu ale zawsze pozostanie w pamięci. Pozdrawiam Cię gorąco bo mam tylko same miłe wspomnienia związane z Twoją osobą.
